A lesson in sushi etiquette

I like conveyer belt sushi- don't you? What a great way to enjoy a meal- watching your choices sail past you on the slow moving belt. The ancipation I feel, just thinking of what could come out next. It is such a nice meal experience, grabbing what you want and leaving what you don't care for.
You understand that part? Let me repeat it:

Grabbing what you want.
Leaving what you don't care for.

Need me to break it down? Okay. I can do that.

  • Do not grab at the lids of sushi plates to see what is inside. The lids are clear. They are clear so you can see the sushi inside. That is why they are designed that way.

  • If you are not sure what the roll is, there is a picture menu right near your little nose for you to peruse. Check it out. Look at the pictures, don't pick up the plate and put it under your little nose.

  • Do not grab a plate of sushi, then decide you don't want it and put it back. Just don't! It is so simple. If you don't want it, leave it. Watch it sail by on the conveyor belt. If you're not sure, wait for it to come back again! That is the beauty of this dining experience!

  • Definitely do not grab at a plate of sushi, knock it off the belt, get your hand stuck in it and put the lid back on, letting it coast by some unsuspecting person. I have no idea if you wash your hands after you go to the bathroom and that is something I don't even want to think about while I am enjoying my dinner and my green tea.

Don't touch other people's food.

Again, if you don't want it, leave it. I don't go into a regular restaurant and stick my little fingers in your caesar salad, so get your measly hands off of my unagi.
